Perham 180 has 11 private rooms, along with a community kitchen and lounge. The program assists with the job search, transportation, helps navigate barriers to reinstating drivers licenses, obtain necessary personal identification cards, establish savings accounts, budgeting, healthy cooking, and just all around general day-to-day issues that can be challenging to handle. When a person first moves in, they often arrive with very limited resources. The donations given to Perham 180, allow us to provide a WELCOME BASKET with all the necessary items needed for the first month here. Along with the toiletries, cleaning supplies, towels, and food, we set up a room to feel like home. The bed is freshly made, a new pillow is provided and a homemade quilt is given as a gift to everyone that moves in. This is home.

We will never forget the first person to move into Perham 180 in October of 2018. "T" called every two weeks for several months waiting for us to finally open our doors. He already had a job at Tuffy's and wanted the safe environment to continue saving up enough money to eventually find himself a permanent home. We are happy to say he has been at Tuffy's for three years now and continues to do very well. To date, we have housed more than 65 people with the average length of stay at 6 months. Housing is a huge barrier for many people. And many have been homeless for more than one year. Between complicated backgrounds, poor rental history or lack of rental history, little to no savings, and no real resources; finding or being approved for affordable housing is sometimes a losing battle. That is where this program shines. Everyone needs a place to call home in order to move forward in every other place in their life. Perham 180 is that opportunity.
