Nyla Foster, a plaintiff in Lambda Legal's case against the state of Kansas is now being recognized for who she truly is. Trans people born in Kansas will now be able to correct the gender marker on their birth certificates and while it should have not taken a lawsuit to reach that conclusion, Nyla feels safer because of the judgment. The state finally recognizes her and respects her as a woman.
